MAKING IT EVERYONE‘S GAME

ENGLAND GOLF

THE STORY

England Golf were formed in 1924 with the sole purpose of looking after the interests of amateur golfers across the country. Over those 100 years, they’ve been at the forefront of making golf an inclusive game and been instrumental in the career progression of professionals from all over England.

THE BRIEF

England Golf approached us to provide video production services alongside photography and animation creation to make their centenary video for their 2024 celebration. The film was to be shown at their gala event in Manchester and had to tell their story from the day that the founders decided to form the organisation through to where they are now and look to the future. The video had to be impactful, include voiceover and also be short enough to work on social media, their website and cinematic enough to play on big screens at their celebration.

THE SOLUTION

We began by travelling to Lincolnshire where England Gold is headquartered. Over one day, we photographed over 1,000 pieces of archive that captured the history of England Golf as an organisation. We sourced archive from both Sky Sports and BBC Sport of the professionals who have been through the system at England Golf and combed through all of the video and image archive England Golf had collected. We then researched their history and wrote an original script that captured their story from start to now. We built the finished video by animating the photography and images into an opening sequence, moving into the footage to hit the beats of the story and then creating an original animation sequence to track the evolution of the brand from its first representation through to the newly created centenary logo at the end of the film. The final voiceover was provided by BBC Sport Lead Golf Correspondent Iain Carter.

WE WERE ALSO…

Commissioned for our video production services by England Golf to capture their event with Newcastle United Women’s FC for the launch of the ‘Women On Par’ campaign.

We provided videography services at Close House Golf Club in Northumberland where football players from Newcastle United tried out golf for the first time. We then edited the footage and interviews to make this main hero film alongside a variety of shorter videos aimed at engaging users on social media.
