THE STORY
North East Young Dads And Lads is an incredible charity that is genuinely changing lives everyday. They work with fathers, carers, and support networks for dads all over the region to help them be the best fathers they can be. That can be everything from helping them learn about baths, bedtimes, and nappies to perinatal mental health, access and rights. They exist in a world where they could be communicating directly with fathers as young as 13-years-old so video, animation, and social media are vital tools in helping them on their mission to help as many fathers as possible.
THE BRIEF
Our video and animation activity with North East Young Dads And Lads has seen vastly different briefs given to us. Their requirements range from long form character animations to bring difficult concepts to life through to hero films to help users explore their website. With every brief, they present a challenge and with every challenge we get to come up with something new and different to help them use video content to speak directly to the dads in their network.
THE SOLUTION
With the range of different video production projects that have been commissioned by North East Young Dads And Lads while we have worked with them, we have had to come up with different solutions at every turn. For the series of perinatal mental health films, we had to create original character animations from illustrations and place them in real-world environments by using conventional footage. For their ‘DigiDad Intro’ film, we wrote original scripts for their dads to deliver to camera against a green screen back ground. Through carefully recreating the new digital platform, animating it and compositing the footage into it, we created a guide and introduction for all users to access to find out how their website could be a tool for them to become better fathers. From testimonials and personal stories from fathers through to mixed-media productions, we have created just about everything for North East Young Dads And Lads.
